Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and organized Distribution Manager to oversee the distribution and logistics of our cheese production facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of dairy products to retail and wholesale customers. Expertise in cold chain logistics, inventory management, and cross-team coordination is essential to maintain product quality and meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Plan, implement, and manage the daily distribution of cheese and dairy products to local and regional customers.
§ Oversee cold storage operations and ensure products are stored and transported under proper temperature-controlled conditions.
§ Coordinate with production and sales teams to align dispatch schedules with supply and demand.
§ Manage and optimize fleet operations, including route planning, driver scheduling, and vehicle maintenance.
§ Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment while minimizing product loss or damage.
§ Monitor stock levels, expiration dates, and product rotation to maintain freshness and compliance.
§ Develop and maintain relationships with logistics partners, retailers, and wholesalers.
§ Lead the distribution team, including warehouse staff and delivery personnel.
§ Implement and monitor KPIs related to delivery accuracy, cost, time, and customer satisfaction.
§ Ensure compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, and all relevant transportation regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
§ Minimum 5 years of experience in food or dairy distribution, preferably in cold chain logistics.
§ Strong understanding of temperature-sensitive product handling and regulatory compliance.
§ Experience with inventory and logistics software (ERP, WMS, or similar).
§ Leadership skills and ability to manage a cross-functional distribution team.
§ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
§ Knowledge of local transportation laws and best practices.
§ Valid driver’s license (if applicable) and flexibility for on-site presence.
