Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Manager – Waste Management to oversee waste collection, segregation, disposal, and recycling operations across multiple sites within Amman Region. The role involves managing field operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, optimizing resources, and delivering high service standards to municipal and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight
- Manage day-to-day waste management operations across assigned locations.
- Supervise teams including supervisors, drivers, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure timely collection, transportation, and disposal of all waste types (municipal, industrial, hazardous, etc.)
- Monitor route optimization, vehicle performance, and service schedules.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and national environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to waste handling, manifests, permits, and audits.
- Liaise with environmental authorities during inspections or compliance reviews.
- Staff Management & Training
- Recruit, train, and develop field staff and supervisors.
- Monitor performance and ensure safety protocols and best practices are followed.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for local authorities, municipal bodies, and private clients.
- Address service issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and present operational reports and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders.
- Resource & Budget Management
- Monitor operational budgets, control costs, and identify areas for savings.
- Oversee fleet usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower and machinery.
- Data & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as collection efficiency, customer satisfaction, incident reports, and recycling rates.
- Use data to drive process improvements and implement sustainable waste practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Waste Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in waste management, logistics, or field operations.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of local and national environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and waste management software/tools (preferred).
