Job Title: District Cooling Plant - Maintenance Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The District Cooling Plant - Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of district cooling systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of chilled water services. The role includes supervising plant staff, coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring plant performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operation of district cooling plants including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and control systems.
- Monitor plant performance parameters and ensure optimal efficiency and reliability of equipment.
- Plan and coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Ensure all operational activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to plant operations.
- Maintain records of equipment performance, downtime, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the control room team and respond to alarms or operational deviations.
- Lead and supervise a team of plant operators and technicians, including assigning tasks and conducting performance evaluations.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response plans.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate regularly with management on plant status.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in district cooling plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, and utility plant operations.
- Familiarity with SCADA/BMS systems and automated plant controls.
- Good understanding of HSE practices and procedures.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
