Job Summary:
A Professional who attends day to day operational Personal Independence (PI) queries, monitors E&I system and manages the other team members.
The role requires technical & practical knowledge, experience and insight of the global & country specific E&I policies and procedures - including core principles specified in GQRM Manual and other E&I and compliance related requirements as per regulators, applicable in the UAE and Oman. The role will include delivering firm wide training on PI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing day to day PI operations and PI Team
- Coaching of the PI team
- Reviewing and preparing PI RER SOQM controls
- Performing Firm wide Independence Compliance Audits (Firm, direct entry and existing staff)
- KICS Administrator
- Preparation of the weekly COIM exercise
- Answering PI related queries raised in Risk Connect (or other channels) for both individuals and the firm
- Granting investment pre-approvals
- Develop and deliver regular firm wide PI training
- Develop and implement action plans to address areas of focus
- Roll out and monitor completion of the annual independence declaration
Qualifications:
Education requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in the field of economics, accounting, finance or law
- Certifications in the field of Risk Management/ relevant professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA)
Work experience requirements:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a reputable multinational organization/ Big 4, preferably other KPMG member firm, within Risk Management, with 1 to 2 years’ experience in management
Technical Skills:
- Ability to deliver solution-focused advice and provide practical business solutions.
- Comprehensive command over relevant knowledge and understating of the global/ local risk management procedures to be able to provide appropriate guidance and advice – including principles of independence and conflict of interest.
- Ability to understand an apply principles of law; and to analyse and resolve legal problems and to guide the legal strategic thinking of the Firm’s service line heads.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications and relevant software
- Technical IT skills relevant to be able to understand and operate the related E&I software’s/ tools
