Objective(s):
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition, implementation, and management of core IT infrastructure components (network, security, servers, and storage) to support the hospital’s operations and safeguard critical systems and data.
Responsibilities:
In this greenfield project, the candidate works collaboratively with all stakeholders of the project and has the responsibility for:
• Ensure that IT and digital infrastructure are selected, procured, implemented, and operated while fully integrated with the strategic planning process, including leadership commitment and resource allocation.
• Work with teams across the business to generate innovative digital solutions for products, services, processes, customer experience, marketing channels, and business models.
• As this is a greenfield organization, the IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for planning the entire IT infrastructure portfolio and leading the procurement of all necessary infrastructure solutions to ensure operational readiness with minimal need for guidance.
• Own and monitor the IT project portfolio.
• Review and recommend technological equipment and establish partnerships with IT providers.
•Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor changes or advancements in IT to discover ways the University can gain a competitive advantage.
• Analyze the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise executives and suggest actions.
• Help create and monitor various analytics (descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive) in the University hospital and medical school.
• Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence.
• Develop and govern a comprehensive data strategy that emphasizes data analytics, business intelligence, and data security, turning data into actionable insights and strategic assets.
• Cybersecurity and Risk Management:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to protect the organization's digital assets and sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards and implement measures to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of a robust IT infrastructure that supports the company's digital initiatives. This includes managing network systems, cloud solutions, data centers, and other critical technology components.
• Drive the adoption of emerging technologies and digital solutions.
Knowledge:
- Network architecture
- Cybersecurity frameworks
- Server and storage systems, including virtualization, SAN/NAS, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Cloud and hybrid infrastructure
- IT procurement processes.
- Infrastructure planning includes capacity sizing and scalability.
- Preferably, Healthcare IT standards.
- Business continuity includes disaster recovery, failover strategies, and SLAs.
- Project management, stakeholder communication, and risk management are pluses.
- International and national IT regulations and laws about healthcare.
Skills and Abilities:
• Plan, organize, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of IT services of hospitals and preferably a medical school.
• Apply highly complex technical principles and concepts to develop solutions for hospital medical and clinical functions.
Qualifications requirements:
• B.Sc / BA in computer science, information technology, digital technology, or a relevant field is required.
• Proven experience.
• Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Background in designing/developing, and planning IT.
• Healthcare and medical education academic experience/ interest.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP) are a plus.
