Job Purpose
The Head of Supply Chain at AgriSciences, will be a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations from a global perspective. This senior management role encompasses strategic planning, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, products, and information from suppliers to customers, with a primary focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality within our manufacturing facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's long-term vision.
• Conduct regular assessments of market trends and competitive landscape to ensure the supply chain strategy remains adaptive and responsive.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate strategic business goals into supply chain planning.
Operational Excellence:
• Implement Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational efficiency and minimize waste.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for each aspect of the supply chain process and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to identify and implement operational enhancements.
Supplier Management:
• Develop a robust supplier qualification process to ensure adherence to quality standards and ethical practices.
• Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers to enhance collaboration and drive mutual benefits.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
• Ensuring a wide list of connections and network, specifically in China when it comes to providing raw material and closing such deals.
Inventory Optimization:
• Implement advanced forecasting models to predict demand accurately and optimize inventory levels.
• Utilize technology such as RFID or IoT for real-time tracking of inventory, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
• Implement just-in-time (JIT) or Kanban systems to streamline inventory replenishment processes.
Logistics and Distribution:
• Evaluate and optimize transportation modes to achieve cost savings and reduce the carbon footprint.
• Implement a robust track-and-trace system for real-time visibility into the movement of goods.
• Explore automation and robotics in distribution centers to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead logistics and distribution activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Risk Management:
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.
• Establish a business continuity plan to mitigate the impact of unforeseen disruptions in the supply chain.
• Regularly review and update risk management strategies based on changing external factors
Team Leadership:
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and innovation.

Data Analysis:

Cost Management:

Innovation and Process Development:
• Establish an innovation lab within the supply chain department to test and implement emerging technologies.

• Implement a structured process for piloting and scaling new technologies within the supply chain.
Cross-Functional Communication:
• Facilitate regular meetings between supply chain, sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure alignment.

• Establish clear communication protocols to address potential bottlenecks or disruptions in the supply chain.
Reporting to Executive Management:
• Develop customized dashboards and reports for executive management, providing real-time insights into supply chain performance.
• Include key performance metrics, financial indicators, and strategic recommendations in executive-level reports.
• Conduct regular presentations to executive leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future plans for supply chain optimization.
Demand Planning
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand market dynamics and customer demand.
• Utilize statistical models and demand planning tools to enhance forecast accuracy.
• Implement agile supply chain practices to respond quickly to changes in demand.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Manufacturing expertise is a must.
• Expertise in Biostimulants & Biocontrol is highly preferred.
• Proven connections in China is a must.
• Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• CSCP, SCOR-P, CPSM are highly preferred and will be an advantage.
• Expertise in Agrochemicals is a huge plus with knowledge in pesticides.
• A minimum of 10-15 years’ of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, with a focus on strategic leadership.
• Proven track record of success in optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes in a managerial or directorial role.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the implementation and utilization of supply chain technologies, such as ERP systems, WMS, and business intelligence tools.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and sustainability practices within the supply chain.
• Proven experience in a senior supply chain leadership role, with a track record of success in optimizing supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices and industry trends.
• Experience with supply chain technology and systems.
