To provide support in the legal department activities such as supporting in all contracts and representing the company in complex cases while serving as a legal counsel for the business to ensure compliance with local laws and avoid any potential legal complications.
Responsibilities:
- To draft, review, and negotiate all types of legal contracts for both internal and external parties in a timely manner, and provide recommendations and abide by the GCC general legal framework.
- Provides legal advice and awareness on all legal and regulatory matters and coordinates with the internal departments within the company to safeguard its rights.
- Review and build all needed legal policies and SOPs and update them continuously.
- To draft and review resolutions and follow up with the relevant authorities in this regard and maintain a correct legal status for all entities in the GCC region with such governmental bodies.
- Manages the renewal and maintenance of the company’s trade licenses and other governmental certificates of the relevant legal entities, and to ensure that the relevant documents are up to date.
- To implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
- To interact and communicate with external parties, encompassing legal advisors, ministries and all governmental bodies, and to follow up on legal issues and cases. In addition, to manage, supervise and follow up on all litigation cases with external law firms, and to represent the company before courts and/or all relevant authorities when needed and to follow up on all legal governmental affairs and monitor and review all IP legal issues in the GCC.
- To work with business partners to ensure early detection and amicable and smart resolution of potential disputes before reaching litigation.
- To assist the General Counsel in special projects, mergers & acquisitions and business development projects.
- Maintain a strong physical and electronic filing system and supervise the archiving process continuously.
- Administer and manage contracts and ensure proper implementation.
- Participate in internal investigations.
- To manage and supervise the activities and work of subordinates, if any, to ensure that all their work is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes, and procedures.
- To assist in the preparation and the development of the budget, and to monitor expenditures and financial performance versus budget.
- Leads to the interpretation of sound advice and negotiations as requested by superiors to facilitate legal efficiencies within these processes.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- B. Sc. of Law degree and license to practice law. (M.A degree in law is a plus)
- Fluency in Arabic, English (French is a plus).
- Experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
- Good Communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel.
