Job Summary
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer is responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of M&E systems and processes. The role ensures the systematic collection, analysis, and reporting of high-quality data to support evidence-based decision-making, performance tracking, and institutional accountability. The position requires a solid understanding of results-based management and project cycle processes, with the ability to apply M&E principles effectively in practice.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Strategic Alignment
Support the development and review of strategic and annual operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives.
Contribute to translating strategic priorities into measurable annual targets, indicators, and implementation plans.
Assist in tracking progress against strategic and annual plans and flagging deviations or risks in a timely manner.
M&E Systems & Tools
Support the development and implementation of M&E frameworks, loagframes, and performance indicators.
Assist in designing data collection tools (surveys, checklists, templates, dashboards).
Maintain project databases and ensure data quality and integrity.
Data Collection & Analysis
Coordinate routine data collection activities (baseline, monitoring, endline, post-activity evaluations).
Clean, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
Support field teams and partners in data reporting and compliance with M&E standards.
Reporting & Documentation
Contribute to learning processes, reflection sessions, and program improvement.
Support feedback mechanisms, beneficiary satisfaction surveys, and accountability systems.
Assist in documenting lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
Learning & Accountability
Contribute to learning processes, reflection sessions, and program improvement.

Capacity Building
Provide basic training and coaching to staff and partners on M&E tools and reporting.
Support the rollout of standardized M&E procedures across projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in M&E, research, or data management.
Strong understanding of results-based management and project cycle management.
Experience working with data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK, Google Forms, Excel, Power BI, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with donors, NGOs, or development programs.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Familiarity with digital data systems, dashboards, or visualization tools.
Experience in capacity building or training delivery.
