About the role:
The purpose of the accountant’s role is to provide support and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. and will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reconciling bank statements, responsible for monitoring accounts payable and receivable, preparing tax returns, and analyzing financial data. The role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs. The accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial data and will support the organization's overall financial goals and objectives.
What you will work on:
- General Accounting: Record and post daily journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in SAP, reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, and maintain accurate chart of accounts and ensure correct cost center allocations to ensure financial data integrity, accuracy of ledgers, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and goods receipts in SAP, and Verify supporting documents and payment terms before posting, and Prepare vendor payment runs and reconcile supplier statements to ensure timely payments, proper authorization, and avoidance of duplicate or erroneous postings.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Issue customer invoices and credit notes in SAP, and Record incoming payments and perform customer account reconciliations, and monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers for timely collections to ensure accurate billing, prompt collections, and proper AR aging management.
- Financial Reporting: Provide timely financial reports as required by decision makers related to projects to manage company performance.
- Bank & Cash Management: Post bank transactions, incoming, and outgoing in SAP, and Prepare bank reconciliations and petty cash summaries, and Coordinate with Treasury Officer on fund availability and cash flow, to ensure proper control of company funds and reconciliation of all bank accounts.
- Policies & Procedure, Stander Practice, Compliance, Legal Requirements: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards practice, the policies and procedures should be aligned with legal requirements and labor relations, ensuring that the organization is in compliance with laws and regulations in order to minimize legal risks and help to consistency and fairness in financial processes.
Your Areas of Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.
- Must have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- A general knowledge of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Nice to have experience in ERP, SAP business one, and accounting software and technology to manage financial data and automate processes.
- Strong knowledge in MS Office.
- Excellent English and Arabic oral and written communication skills.
- Nice to have training/certificates in any of the related field.
