Job Summary
The IT Analytics & Power BI Specialist is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards using Power BI and related tools. The role focuses on transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights to support business decision-making and performance monitoring. The Specialist collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and ensure the accuracy, relevance, and visual quality of analytics outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, Design, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards, reports, and data models,
data transformation, and dataflow using Power BI and other BI tools.
• Power BI setting up and managing workspaces, applications, and dataset connections for semantic models, as well as managing gateway settings, refresh schedules, and all related configurations in Power BI.
• Managing permissions to ensure secure access with appropriate authorizations through the implementation of Row-Level Security (RLS) groups and custom page-level security.
• Creating advanced visualizations that include action buttons for interactive views, custom tables, conditional formatting, and customizations using JSON files.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams from the requirements stage (BRD) through testing (UAT) and into the go-live phase
• Optimize Power BI solutions for performance and scalability.
• Integrate Power BI with various data sources, including Oracle database, SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, SAP HANA and cloud platforms.
• Ensuring data governance best practices, data accuracy and consistency.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful implementation of analytics solutions.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders to interpret financial, operational, and performance data.
• Stay updated and informed with the latest Power BI features, industry trends, best practices in data visualization, and BI technologies
• Perform additional duties related to data analytics and reporting as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
Experience:
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles, with a strong focus on Power BI development.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modelling.
• Experience with Power BI Service, including workspace management and deployment pipelines.
• Strong experience with SQL, P/SQL and relational databases. And data sources connection from various sources (databases, Excel, Dataverse, etc).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding data governance, performance optimization, and visualization best practices.
• Basic knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure Data Services, Python, or R is an advantage.
