Job Title: Senior Operations Manager

Position Summary
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all brand operations across Mawasem’s multi-franchise portfolio, including retail and F&B.; This role ensures brand alignment, operational e ciency, and continuous growth while maintaining franchise standards. The position acts as the bridge between franchisors, brand teams, and internal departments to ensure consistency and pro tability across all brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Channel Expansion & Distribution ·
- Identify and Onboard New Retail Partners: Prospect and secure new retail accounts, from large national chains to regional specialty stores.
- Expand Distribution Networks: Increase the number of stores and online marketplaces that carry the company's products.
- Market Analysis: Research and identify untapped geographic markets, retail channels, and consumer segments.
- Manage roll-out of new projects and time bound implementation of projects .
- Formulate & implement retail strategies and procedures in discussion with the Concept Head .
- Identify internal and external commercial opportunities .
- Provide monthly feedback on competitor and event activities .
- Suggest improvements based on benchmark practices .
- Conduct SWOT review to analyses the customer profile (a study undertaken by an organization to identify its internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as its external opportunities and threats) .
- Ensure pricing of merchandise as per norms and matrix format .
- Provision of monthly feedback to Concept on sales, stock positions and product feedback .
- Understand Territory dynamics (demographics, consumer behaviors, market understanding etc.) .
- Prepare Territory operating plan (new store, seasonal and store) and ensure effective implementation
2. Key Account Management & Retailer Relations
- Build Strong Retailer Relationships: Serve as the main point of contact for key retail buyers and merchandisers.
- Negotiate Terms: Secure favorable terms, including pricing, promotional allowances, and return policies.
- Manage Retailer Performance: Analyze sales data for each account to identify growth opportunities, address underperformance, and ensure mutual profitability.
- Set KRA's (key result area) for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal quarterly
3. Sales & Merchandising Strategy
- Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and distribution goals.
- Develop Planograms: Work with retailers to create optimal product placement and shelf-space plans (planograms) to maximize visibility and sales.
- Present at Line Reviews: Lead compelling presentations during retailers' seasonal or annual line reviews to get new products listed and existing ones renewed.
- Ensure all store sales, promotions are planned effectively, executed and promptly and maintained professionally .
- Review and effectively deal with fast / slow lines, new ranges and end of ranges and implement necessary action
- Review and analyses stock and sales reports monitoring over and under stocks, implementing corrective action to be taken
- Prepare and participate in the preparation of sales budgets
- Maximize sales and profitability of the Jordan Stores
- Maximize productivity targets (sales per Sqft, ATV, Conversion etc.)
4. Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborative Promotions: Develop and execute in-store and online promotional campaigns with retail partners (e.g., endcaps, featured placements, buy-one-get-one deals).
- Coordinate Marketing Assets: Ensure retailers have the correct product images, descriptions, and digital assets for their websites and marketing materials.
- Analyze Promotion Effectiveness: Review the performance of promotions and adjust strategies accordingly.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor Sell-Through Data: Track point-of-sale (POS) data to understand sell-through rates, inventory turns, and stock levels at retailers.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and placement within retail accounts.
- Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and inventory recommendations to both internal planning teams and retail partners.
Education and Experience
- · Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience: · 5-7 years of experience in retail sales, key account management, or business development within the retail industry is crucial.
- Proven track record of securing new retail accounts and growing existing business.
- Specific experience with the type of retail (e.g., apparel, electronics, beauty and clean) is highly valued.
- Experience working with major retailers is a significant advantage.
Essential Hard Skills
- Understanding of Retail Operations: Deep knowledge of retail buying cycles, merchandising principles, planogramming, and supply chain logistics.
- POS & Data Analysis: Proficiency in using retail data platforms (like Nielsen, IRI) or retailer-specific portals to analyze sales and market share.
- CRM & Pipeline Management ·
- Financial Acumen: Strong skills in managing margins, understanding retailer profitability (e.g., GMROII - Gross Margin Return on Inventory Investment)
