We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven leader to join our fast-growing meat production business as Commercial Director – Operations & Sales. This is a pivotal senior leadership role that combines strategic commercial management with operational oversight across our meat processing facility and network of 9 butcheries.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial operations, preferably from the meat processing or any food industry, with proven experience in both B2B and B2C sales. This role is responsible for the commercial side of the factory and butcheries, holding full P&L accountability and driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and market expansion.
You will lead a team of three direct reports – Plant Manager, Retail Manager, and Food Service Manager, ensuring seamless collaboration between production, retail, and food service channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the commercial strategy for operations and sales, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Oversee production output, retail operations, and food service sales to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Manage end-to-end commercial planning, including pricing, budgeting, and financial performance (P&L, cash flow).
- Expand B2B and B2C sales channels through innovative strategies and market development initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize operational performance, identifying areas for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years of senior commercial and operational leadership experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or FMCG.
- Strong exposure to both B2B and B2C sales channels and experience managing multi-site operations.
- Solid financial acumen with hands-on experience in managing P&L and cash flow.
- Proven track record of driving growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering measurable results.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
