Job Title: Fleet Controller – Ready Mix Concrete
Location: Amman-Jordan
Job Purpose:
The Fleet Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and movement of the ready-mix fleet, including transit mixers, pumps, and support vehicles. The role ensures optimal dispatching, vehicle tracking, compliance, and coordination with plant, maintenance, and delivery teams to achieve timely and efficient concrete deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Scheduling & Dispatching:
- Coordinate daily dispatching of transit mixers, pumps, and support vehicles across multiple batching plants.
- Assign drivers and vehicles based on delivery schedules and production plans.
- Monitor and adjust dispatch plans in real-time to accommodate traffic, breakdowns, or order changes.
- Monitoring & Tracking:
- Utilize GPS and fleet tracking systems to monitor vehicle movements and delivery times.
- Ensure on-time delivery and provide proactive updates to production, sales, and customers in case of delays.
- Communication:
- Serve as the central point of contact between drivers, batching plants, site supervisors, and logistics teams.
- Communicate job instructions clearly to drivers and handle operational issues on the ground.
- Fleet Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure drivers comply with safety, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Keep accurate records of trip logs, delivery slips, delays, and incidents.
- Maintenance Coordination:
- Work closely with the maintenance department to schedule vehicle servicing, repairs, and availability.
- Report any breakdowns or vehicle issues immediately.
- Reporting & Optimization:
- Provide daily and weekly reports on fleet utilization, delivery performance, and vehicle availability.
- Identify areas for improving delivery efficiency and fleet productivity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fleet coordination, preferably in a ready mix or construction-related industry.
- Experience with dispatching, GPS tracking systems, and fleet management software.
- Knowledge of local transportation regulations and routes.
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
