About the role.
BARE is looking for a Barista & Cashier to prepare drinks, welcome guests, take orders, and handle payments.
You’ll prepare coffee, matcha, teas, and signature beverages, follow recipes, and help keep service accurate, friendly, and consistent.
Responsibilities.
- Prepare hot and cold beverages according to recipes and quality standards.
- Adjust grinders, prepare espresso, and steam milk to the correct texture and temperature.
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Welcome guests, answer menu questions, and help them choose.
- Enter orders accurately into the POS system, including modifications and special requests.
- Process cash and card payments, issue receipts, and give correct change.
- Count the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, reconcile transactions, and report discrepancies.
- Check ingredient quality and report shortages or equipment concerns.
- Label, date, and store ingredients correctly.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen-handling procedures.
- Keep the beverage station, coffee equipment, and cashier area clean and organized.
- Monitor ingredient use, record waste, and reduce avoidable losses.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to keep orders accurate and timely.
Qualifications.
- Practical knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and coffee equipment.
- Basic numeracy and confidence handling payments and using a POS system.
- Attention to recipes, flavour, presentation, and order accuracy.
- A friendly manner and clear communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and apply it.
- Ability to stay organized and work under pressure.
- Reliability, honesty, and a cooperative approach to work.
- An understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen awareness.
- Previous barista or cashier experience is preferred.
