Job Overview
The FinOps Manager is responsible for driving cost optimization and strategic planning initiatives across the bank’s IT infrastructure. This role will focus on managing and optimizing costs related to Windows and IBM licensing, end-user devices (laptops, desktops), virtualization clusters, hardware, and related IT assets. The FinOps Manager will work in the Center of Excellence under the CTO, collaborating with IT, and IT finance teams to ensure effective financial governance and maximize return on technology investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost optimization strategies for IT infrastructure, focusing on software licensing (Windows, IBM), hardware assets, virtualization environments, and end-user computing.
- Monitor and analyze IT spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend actionable measures.
- Lead initiatives for license compliance, optimization, and vendor management to ensure the bank leverages best pricing and usage models.
- Coordinate with IT operations, procurement, and finance departments to align infrastructure investments with business objectives and financial targets.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT cost performance, savings achieved, and recommendations for further optimization.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes for IT infrastructure.
- Establish policies and best practices for asset management, software usage, and lifecycle cost control.
- Provide guidance and support to infrastructure teams for cost-effective planning and resource utilization.
- Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT financial management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT financial management, cost optimization, or similar roles within a large organization.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including software licensing (Windows, IBM), hardware, virtualization, and end-user devices.
- Analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with IT asset management tools and financial reporting.
