Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Amman. The Accountant will be responsible for recording and reconciling financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. Daily tasks include preparing financial statements and reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The role also involves monitoring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations, supporting internal and external audits, and providing financial analysis to support management decisions. The Accountant will collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure sound financial practices and efficient processes.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
- Ability to analyze financial data, prepare budgets, and perform variance and cost analysis.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and auditing practices.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Experience working in a corporate or consultancy environment is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and maintain high ethical standards.
