Job Summary:
To lead the Business Intelligence function by delivering reliable, actionable, and timely business insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. The role is responsible for managing BI platforms, data warehousing, analytics solutions, reporting frameworks, and data governance practices while ensuring alignment with business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and regulatory requirements within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The Business Intelligence Section Head serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, transforming data into meaningful intelligence that enhances performance, operational efficiency, commercial effectiveness, and organizational growth.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Intelligence Strategy & Analytics
- Develop and execute the Business Intelligence roadmap aligned with organizational strategy and digital transformation objectives.
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting frameworks.
- Lead the development of advanced analytics capabilities to support performance management and data-driven decision-making.
- Establish standardized reporting methodologies across functions to ensure consistency and reliability of business information.
- Support leadership teams with analytical insights, trend analysis, forecasting, and business performance monitoring.
Data Warehousing & Data Integration
- Lead the design, enhancement, and optimization of enterprise data warehouse architecture and analytical data models.
- Ensure seamless integration of ERP, CRM, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial data sources.
- Maintain data structures that support accurate, scalable, and efficient reporting and analytics.
- Oversee ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure data availability and integrity.
Reporting & Dashboard Management
- Establish and maintain enterprise dashboards and performance scorecards.
- Ensure the timely delivery of accurate reports and analytics to stakeholders.
- Drive automation of reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitor reporting effectiveness and continuously improve user experience and business value.
Data Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, definitions, ownership models, and quality controls.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and traceability across all BI platforms.
- Implement controls related to data security, access management, and regulatory compliance.
- Support audit readiness and compliance with applicable pharmaceutical and information security requirements.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with department heads to identify analytical needs and business opportunities.
- Facilitate data-driven decision-making through effective communication of insights and recommendations.
- Act as the primary BI advisor for business functions regarding reporting, analytics, and performance measurement.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to enhance organizational data maturity.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance through analytics, automation, and digital solutions.
- Evaluate emerging BI technologies and recommend enhancements that support organizational objectives.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through advanced analytics and business intelligence practices.
- Benchmark BI capabilities against industry best practices.
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop Business Intelligence team members.
- Establish departmental objectives, KPIs, and development plans.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide continuous feedback.
- Identify manpower, succession, and training requirements.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and customer-focused team culture.
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage the Business Intelligence section budget.
- Optimize utilization of systems, licenses, and analytical resources.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure efficient use of departmental resources.
- Support business case development for BI investments and technology enhancements.
Job Specification:
Required Educational Level & Certificates
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or Business Administration is preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, FMCG, or highly regulated industries is preferred.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
