Job Summary
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially driven Senior Placement Broker to join our team, specializing in Property and Engineering Lines. This role combines the analytical depth of an underwriter with the market-facing skills of a reinsurance broker. The ideal candidate will be capable of assessing complex risks, structuring reinsurance solutions, and managing relationships with reinsurers and underwriters across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Broking & Placement
- Lead the placement of Property and Engineering reinsurance programs in international markets
- Structure and negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with reinsurers on behalf of cedants
- Prepare and present comprehensive placing submissions, including risk analysis and technical data
- Manage the full placement cycle from slip preparation to binding and documentation
Technical Underwriting
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis of Property and Engineering risks including CAR, EAR, MB, and PD/BI covers
- Review and assess policy wordings, endorsements, and coverage structures
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients and internal teams
- Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing movements in Property and Engineering lines
Client & Market Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers and underwriters
- Act as point of contact for clients on all placement and technical matters
- Identify new business opportunities and support the growth of the Property and Engineering portfolio
- Represent the company in client meetings, market visits, and industry events
Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all placement activities
- Prepare technical reports, market updates, and portfolio analyses for management
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in reinsurance broking, insurance underwriting, or a combined role within Property and Engineering lines
- Solid technical knowledge of Property and Engineering insurance products including CAR, EAR, Property All Risk, Machinery Breakdown, and Business Interruption
- Experience in negotiating terms and managing placements with reinsurers
- Strong understanding of policy wordings, coverage structures, and market practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cedants and/or reinsurers in a broking environment
- Exposure to international reinsurance markets
- Familiarity facultative reinsurance structures
- Prior experience in a underwriting and/or broking role
