About the Role:
Nextwo is a leading software solutions and offshore company providing top-tier technical talent to clients across the GCC. We are looking for a highly positive, strategic, and tech-forward Chief Accountant. In this role, you will take ownership of our core accounting processes, partnering closely with the Finance Manager to ensure our finance department operates flawlessly. You will handle complex multi-currency billing for our GCC clients, execute high-level financial reporting, and take a hands-on approach to developing our financial and AI-driven accounting systems to streamline workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Accounting & Reporting: Take ownership of executing accurate month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger (GL) maintenance, and the preparation of comprehensive, consolidated financial statements for the Finance Manager and executive review.
- GCC Client Invoicing & Receivables: Oversee complex billing, multi-currency invoicing, and collections operations for our external clients. Maintain a highly positive, consultative approach when discussing financials with clients to ensure satisfaction and support business retention and growth.
- Offshore Payroll & Project Costing: Manage payroll processing and cost accounting for our offshore IT teams, accurately tracking project profitability, margins, and resource allocation.
- Systems Development: Go beyond standard data entry; take an active, hands-on role in configuring, automating, and optimizing our accounting systems and AI financial tools (e.g., automated reconciliations, AI forecasting) to streamline workflows and modernize the accounting function.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure strict adherence to local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and manage tax filings and compliance for cross-border operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 6–10 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience specifically within the IT, software solutions, offshore, or outsourcing industries.
- Accounting Expertise: Advanced, hands-on experience with complex financial reporting, multi-currency transactions, international billing, and offshore payroll management.
- Communication & Growth Mindset: Exceptional, positive communication skills. Must have the business acumen to confidently communicate financial matters to GCC clients and the collaborative spirit to partner effectively with the Finance Manager to spot operational or financial opportunities.
- Systems & AI Mindset: Strong experience using modern accounting and ERP platforms, as well as AI financial tools. Must be highly adaptable with a technical mindset and the ability to develop, configure, and continuously improve our internal financial systems.
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (CPA, CMA, or ACCA) is strongly preferred.
