JOB PURPOSE
The Control and Reporting Senior Analyst - Group supports the Control and Reporting Manager in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reports across the entire group. This role involves assisting in financial reporting, analysis, and the implementation of internal controls, as well as preparing, analyzing, and consolidating financial data from various subsidiaries and business units, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The Control and Reporting Senior Analyst also provides critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making at the group level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with subsidiary entities to gather financial data, review submissions, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation to facilitate the financial reporting process.
2. Consolidation and Intercompany Transactions
- Support the Group Control and Reporting Manager in the consolidation process, including the elimination of intercompany transactions and adjustments.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate and resolve any variances or discrepancies with the subsidiaries’ finance managers.
- Assist in maintaining controls over intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Internal Controls
- Assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Support compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Assist in conducting regular audits of financial processes and controls.
4. Financial Analysis and Insights
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement across the group.
- Prepare variance analysis reports and assist in the interpretation of financial results.
- Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor financial performance.
5. External Reporting, Compliance & Risk Management
- Assist in the preparation of financial disclosures and footnotes for external reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support external audit activities by arranging submitting requested documentation and explanations as needed with subsidiaries’ finance managers.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and assist in implementing necessary updates.
- Support adherence to regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Support monitoring changes in the regulatory landscape and assessing potential impacts on financial reporting and operations.
6. Process Improvement and Optimization
- Participate in efforts to streamline and improve group reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for automation and leverage technology solutions to optimize reporting capabilities.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining reporting procedures, controls, and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- CMA, CPA, FMVA, DipIFR is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Financial Controlling, Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting or related roles.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience in financial management, preferably in a group or multinational environment.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge in ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good IFRS knowledge.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
