Chief Accountant – Job Description
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing all financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing credit control and client reconciliations. The role supports senior management with financial insights, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end financial accounting, including preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Lead credit control and receivables management, optimizing cash flow and minimizing financial risks.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing, audits, and implementation of internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support business decision-making.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency within the finance function.
- Coordinate with auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders for smooth audit processes.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CA/ACCA preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Experience in credit control and receivables management.
- Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
