Job Purpose
This role is critical for safeguarding the company's integrity and operational license, ensuring we not only meet but exceed our regulatory obligations across the multiple jurisdictions we operate in. You will be responsible for implementing compliance frameworks, conducting monitoring and testing, and serving as a trusted advisor to the business on a wide range of compliance matters,
Duties and Responsibilities
- - Continuously monitor, analyse, and interpret new and existing laws, regulations, and circulars from central banks, financial regulatory authorities, telecom regulators, and data protection bodies.
- - Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable, business-friendly policies, procedures, and controls for internal teams (e.g., Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance).
- - Provide real-time, practical compliance advice to business units on new product launches, marketing campaigns, and partnership agreements (specifically with telecom and banks).
- - Maintain the company's internal compliance portal/intranet, ensuring all teams have access to the latest versions of policies and regulatory updates.
- - Coordinate with Risk Dpt. To develop and execute a comprehensive, risk-based compliance monitoring plan, conduct periodic testing and audits of key compliance controls (e.g., KYC checks, transaction monitoring rules, partner onboarding) to ensure their effectiveness
- - Prepare detailed reports on monitoring findings, including root cause analysis, and track the implementation of corrective actions by process owners.
- - Coordinate with HR Dpt. To develop and deliver targeted, engaging compliance training modules to employees, with specialized sessions for high-risk teams like Sales, Customer Support, and Product.
- - Create and disseminate "Compliance Flash" memos to communicate urgent regulatory changes or internal policy updates.
- - Coordinate with Commercial Dpt. To participate in the compliance due diligence of potential and existing partners (telecom, banks, payment gateways, merchants).
- Prepare standardized and ad-hoc compliance reports for management, the Board of Directors, and relevant regulators as required.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification is a significant plus.
Courses and Certifications:
Years of Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of dedicated compliance experience.
Preferred Industry Experience:
fintech, payment institution, e-commerce platform, bank, or telecom company.
Technical Skills:
- Customer Due Diligence (CDD/KYC)
- Ability to operate a transaction monitoring system
- Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR)
- Use screening tools (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis Bridger) to screen customers and partners against global sanctions lists and PEP databases.
