Location: Amman with 50% chance of traveliing to low-resource settings
Job Summary
The Software Deployment Officer supports the deployment and implementation of software solutions, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime across program sites. This role involves assisting in the preparation, coordination, and execution of software installations, updates, and configurations across diverse technical and field environments.
Working within a cross-functional team, the officer collaborates closely with stakeholders to conduct pre-deployment assessments, configure systems, resolve technical issues, and provide hands-on or remote support throughout rollouts. The role also contributes to deployment documentation, user training, and ongoing support to ensure that systems are effectively adopted and aligned with programmatic needs.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of software deployment processes and tools, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset are essential for thriving in dynamic and often resource-constrained NGO settings.
Main Task and Responsibilities:

Deployment Planning, Implementation & Support (50%)
Conduct discovery sessions to gather deployment requirements from clients and field teams
Perform technical assessments to evaluate pre-deployment readiness across country or field sites
Contribute to deployment and training planning in collaboration with the Head of Department (HoD) and IT team
Assist in transition planning for software implementations, including testing, installations, and data integrity validation
Support global rollout efforts across International Medical Corps’ missions and coordinate with external partners
Execute and monitor software deployments, providing real-time technical support during rollouts
Deliver in-person or remote training sessions to healthcare staff and end users
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support during go-live and post-deployment phases
Perform routine system maintenance, including patches, updates, and configuration changes
Travel up to 50% to low-resource settings to assist with deployments, training, and support activities

Documentation, Compliance & Continuous Improvement (50%)
Assist in creating and updating user guides, training materials, and technical documentation
Track deployment progress and maintain records of implementation activities and lessons learned
Responding to system issues, escalate complex problems, and document resolutions for internal use
Collaborate with the HoD and medical teams to ensure system compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory standards
Participating in collaborative teams focused on improving system functionality and user experience
Gather, document, and share user feedback to inform system enhancements
Support the implementation of data protection protocols and contribute to internal audits or compliance checks
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in digital health, deployment strategies, and health information systems
Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors to support departmental and organizational goals
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Business Information Technology, or any related field.
Minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience in software deployment, implementation or technical support.
Hands-on experience with electronic health systems (EHR, EMR, DHIS2, mHealth, or similar platforms).
Understanding of supply chain workflows is preferred.
Working with a global client base is preferred.
Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural environments.
Willingness to provide on-site or remote support during rollout phases.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to low-resource settings
Proficient in English language is required.
