Position Overview
The Strategy Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic direction of Jo Academy by focusing on robust data collection, insightful analysis, clear presentation of findings, and thorough financial analysis. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently collaborate with internal teams, ensuring that the data and insights generated lead to well-informed strategic decisions. You will work closely with the Strategy Lead, providing analysis that underpins key business initiatives and helps optimize our financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Management
- Develop and implement efficient processes for gathering data from internal and external sources to support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of collected data by applying rigorous quality control and validation protocols.
- Maintain centralized databases and documentation, ensuring data is accessible, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.
- Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse data sources and provide actionable insights.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques and tools to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
- Presentation of Insights
- Prepare clear and concise presentations, dashboards, and reports to communicate data insights and financial analyses to stakeholders at various levels.
- Translate analytical findings into recommendations that are easily understandable and actionable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop visualizations to effectively illustrate key performance indicators and support executive decision-making.
- Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic investment decisions.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to understand the financial impact of strategic initiatives and market changes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered an asset.
- 2-5years of professional experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or a related role within a strategic business function.

Technical Proficiency
- Expertise in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, or R) along with BI platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Solid understanding of financial analysis tools and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with data visualization techniques and project management software is a plus.
