We are looking for a highly organized, experienced and detail-oriented Operations Officer to join the Shipping Agency team. The ideal candidate will have up to 3 years of work experience in the field and posses a strong understanding of the documentary and operational requirements with vessels calling Aqaba, including container vessels.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of documentation related to vessels calling Aqaba, with a particular focus on containers and feeder vessels.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Track and monitor containers, ensuring accurate and timely documentation at all stages of the shipping process.
- Coordinate and liaise with liners, ports, customs, shippers, and consignees to fulfill documentary requirements efficiently.
- Maintain proper record-keeping systems to ensure accurate and accessible documentation.
- Review and verify all relevant documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and changes in documentary requirements to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- 1- 3 years of work experience in a similar role within the shipping industry.
- Strong knowledge of documentary requirements associated with different types of vessels calling Aqaba, including containers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in document verification and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders and internal teams.
- Proficient in using relevant software (including use of ASYCUDA) and tools for documentation management (training will be provided).
- Familiarity with customs procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
