Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer (.NET Core & PHP Laravel) to join our engineering team in Amman. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power iDoc's healthcare ecosystem. You will build new backend applications using ASP.NET Core while maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing our existing PHP Laravel platform as part of our technology transition strategy.
This position requires strong hands-on professional experience with both ASP.NET Core (.NET/C#) and PHP Laravel. Candidates who do not have practical experience with both technologies will not be considered.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Flutter, QA, Cloud, and Frontend teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using ASP.NET Core (C#).
- Maintain, enhance, and support the existing PHP Laravel platform.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs.
- Design clean, secure, and maintainable backend architecture.
- Develop new backend modules and future applications.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external healthcare services.
- Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and application scalability.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure data handling.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Flutter, QA, Cloud, and Frontend teams.
- Follow engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Mandatory: Strong hands-on professional experience with both ASP.NET Core (C#) and PHP Laravel.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Entity Framework Core.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MySQL.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID Principles.
- Experience implementing JWT authentication, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Proficiency with Git and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
