As an Application Engineer you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment surrounded by peers working on the same platform(s). You will be working directly with clients developing solutions for their business as well as engaging in a continued learning path with Senior and Team Lead Engineers. The mentors and training resources provided at Avertra are intended to enable our Application Engineers to become Mendix Advanced certified and elevate their professional journey.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new software programs with Mendix.
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
- Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues.
- Design and update software data models.
- Develop user-friendly and modern style UI.
- Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
- Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary.
- Pursue continued education and training in Mendix and other low code systems.
- Mentor junior application engineers.
- Perform code reviews for junior application engineers.
Requirements
Needed Competencies: - Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into development tasks.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the same field and Mendix Intermediate certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must have experience with Mendix.
- Must have In-depth knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML and CSS.
- Must have working experience with building APIs and Services using REST, SOAP, etc.
- Must have working experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Preferences: - Javascript experience.
- .NET experience.
- React Native experience.
- Camunda or BPMN experience.
- Appian experience.
- CSS3 experience.
- Java experience.
- Sparks EA experience.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
Travel: Based on business needs.
Work Schedule: Schedule is the Avertra office schedule or client schedule based on assigned projects.
