A leading multinational engineering company is seeking a Tax Associate to join its offices in Amman.
Job Summary
The Tax Associate is a key operational contributor to the regional in-house tax function. This role supports tax compliance, reporting, and audit defense across multiple subsidiaries within the region. You will act as the bridge between local finance teams, the regional tax headquarters, and external advisors. The ideal candidate is process-driven, analytically minded, and eager to learn how international tax principles apply in a complex MNE environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist local operations in preparing various tax calculations as needed, including corporate income tax (CIT), VAT, WHT, payroll tax, social security, stamp duty, and other applicable taxes.
- Support local operations in tax audits, objections, and court cases.
- Prepare the annual tax note disclosure for the consolidated financial statements.
- Oversee tax provisions and deferred tax asset/liability schedules at the legal entity level, including the related accounting entries.
- Maintain transfer pricing policy, models, contracting, invoicing, and accounting entries.
- Coordinate the preparation of master file and local file documentation for transfer pricing.
- Support the preparation of country-by-country (CbC) reporting and global minimum tax (Pillar Two) reporting.
- Advise the group’s operations on project contracting structures, M&A, restructuring, and other business activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
- 1–3 years of tax experience (public accounting or in-house corporate tax)
- Familiarity with VAT/GST, corporate income tax, and WHT concepts in a cross-border context.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements).
- Understanding of basic transfer pricing concepts (arm’s length principle, intercompany transactions).
Preferred
- CPA, ACCA, ADiT, or local equivalent (partly qualified accepted)
- Knowledge of Jordan or other tax laws and regulations.
