Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Amman. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping for the firm. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking accounts receivable and payable, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with payroll processing. The role also involves preparing periodic financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and assisting with audits and regulatory compliance requirements. The Accountant will collaborate with legal and administrative teams to provide financial insights that support effective decision-making and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel), and ability to work with financial management systems.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements relevant to professional services or law firms.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Amman, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
