Job Purpose
To provide administrative and executive oversight of financial activities related to the Operations Sector and Information Systems Department across Bank of Jordan Group. The role aims to support the achievement of strategic sector objectives by analyzing financial data and producing accurate forecasts that enable informed decision-making. It also involves measuring financial performance through participation in financial planning and budgeting processes, monitoring performance against budgets, analyzing variances, and identifying corrective actions. Additionally, the role is responsible for preparing financial reports and studies to enhance efficiency and optimize costs in line with sector objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze key performance indicator (KPI) reports and compare them against approved budgets at the group level, identify variances, investigate their causes with relevant stakeholders, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate between the Finance Department and business units to meet budgeting requirements for relevant departments across the banking group, ensuring adherence to set timelines and supporting monthly forecasting processes.
- Continuously monitor sector-related costs and provide recommendations for cost optimization based on cost allocation outputs, with a focus on reducing expenses across relevant sectors.
- Prepare monthly cost center reports, comparing actual expenses with budgets and prior periods, identifying variances, and coordinating with department managers to implement corrective measures.
- Provide support for sector-related projects and capital expenditures, and develop performance indicators to track the value generated from these projects in alignment with their objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls related to cost allocation in accordance with bank policies at the group level, and propose cost-reduction initiatives related to relevant departments.
- Supervise and review the calculation and validation of projected project costs for relevant departments, assess their impact on the bank's profitability, and evaluate their expected benefits.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of operating and capital expenditure budgets, including developing standardized reporting formats at the group level, and ensuring the accuracy and realism of budget figures.
- Oversee the extraction and analysis of financial data required for building accurate forecasts to support effective decision-making.
- Enhance financial reporting tools and formats to facilitate easier monitoring of departmental performance within relevant sectors, and present insights to management for decision-making.
- Provide ongoing support to the direct supervisor within the Finance Department by delivering relevant financial data, reports, and analysis aligned with sector requirements.
- Ensure that daily operations of the unit comply with approved policies and procedures, safeguarding the bank's interests.
- Act as a primary or backup member within business continuity and emergency response teams, executing assigned responsibilities to minimize disruption and ensure timely recovery of operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or any related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in management accounting, cost accounting, and budgeting.
- Professional certification such as CMA is preferred.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Good knowledge of governing policies and procedures (both internal and external) and their updates.
- Strong understanding of international standards, regulations, and local laws related to financial and accounting matters, with the ability to stay updated on changes.
- Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with relevant financial systems.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with others
