Inventory Accounting Manager

Role Description
CTI Distribution is seeking an experienced Inventory Accounting Manager to join its Amman office. This position will oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliation, cost control, and financial reporting across the company’s international wholesale operations.
The successful candidate must have strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, experience working with ERP systems, and the ability to analyze high-volume inventory transactions accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete inventory-accounting process across multiple locations and legal entities.
- Reconcile inventory records between the general ledger, ERP system, warehouse reports, and physical inventory counts.
- Monitor inventory purchases, transfers, sales, returns, adjustments, and write-offs.
- Review inventory valuation and cost-of-goods-sold calculations.
- Calculate and review product costs, freight, duties, insurance, and other landed-cost components.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective action with warehouse, purchasing, sales, and finance teams.
- Ensure accurate recording of goods in transit and intercompany inventory transfers.
- Review inventory aging, slow-moving products, damaged goods, and obsolete inventory.
- Recommend and record inventory reserves when required.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Prepare inventory reports, account reconciliations, journal entries, and management analyses.
- Develop and maintain effective inventory controls, accounting procedures, and approval processes.
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle-count programs.
- Work with external auditors and provide supporting schedules and documentation.
- Assist with ERP implementation, development, testing, and process improvement.
- Supervise and develop junior and senior inventory-accounting team members.
- Identify risks, reporting issues, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant accounting experience, including significant inventory-accounting responsibility.
- Strong understanding of inventory valuation, cost accounting, COGS, landed cost, and general-ledger reconciliation.
- Experience with high-volume wholesale, distribution, retail, logistics, or consumer-electronics inventory is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, reconciliations, and large-data analysis.
- Practical experience with ERP and inventory-management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting.
- Excellent spoken and written English is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with international finance, purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams.
- CPA, CMA, ACCA, or another relevant professional certification is preferred.
- Quickbooks, SAP, Odoo experience is a plus.
