Spare Parts Engineer – Automotive / Motorcycle

Job Summary :
We are looking for a detail-oriented Spare Parts Engineer responsible for ensuring spare parts availability, maintaining optimal stock levels, and managing ordering processes to support workshop operations and customer demand.
The role focuses on demand forecasting, procurement planning, inventory control, and coordination with logistics and service teams to achieve high service level and fast repair turnaround time.
Key Responsibilities
1.Inventory & Stock Control:
Maintain optimal min/max stock levels
Monitor fast & slow moving items
Prevent shortages, overstock and dead stock
Perform stock analysis, aging and consumption reports
Conduct cycle count and annual inventory
2. Parts Ordering & Planning
Prepare and follow up purchase orders with suppliers / manufacturer
Forecast demand based on workshop consumption & seasonality
Handle emergency orders (VOR cases)
Track backorders and ensure timely supply
Maintain parts master data accuracy
3. Availability & Workshop Support
Ensure parts availability for scheduled service jobs
Coordinate with service advisors and technicians
Support correct parts identification using EPC/catalogs
Reduce vehicle waiting time due to parts shortage
Logistics & Documentation
Coordinate receiving and inspection procedures
Monitor shipment status and delivery lead time
Handle shortages, damages and claims
Maintain proper storage, bin locations and FIFO standards
4. Performance & Reporting
Improve fill rate and service level
Control inventory value and turnover ratio
Support parts sales targets
Prepare monthly performance reports
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related field
2–5 years experience in automotive or motorcycle spare parts
Strong analytical and Excel skills
Experience with DMS / ERP systems
Good knowledge of spare parts catalogs (EPC)
Good English communication skills
Preferred
Dealership experience
Demand planning or supply chain background
Knowledge of inventory KPIs (Fill rate, stock turnover, aging)
