Role Description
Arab Mine Action Consultancy Crew (AMACC) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations at the main office and branches. The role ensures accuracy of financial records, compliance with applicable accounting regulations, and supports management through financial reporting and analysis for effective decision-making.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and review daily and monthly journal entries in accordance with the approved accounting cycle.
- Perform bank reconciliations and prepare adjustment memos for top management.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable and ensure timely settlements.
- Track actual expenses versus approved budgets and prepare variance reports.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis (revenues, expenses, cash flow).
- Participate in preparing the annual budget and monitoring adherence.
- Review monthly financial statements from branches and reconcile them with allocated budgets.
- Manage petty cash reconciliations.
- Coordinate with banks regarding withdrawals, deposits, transfers, and bank guarantees.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, social security requirements, and financial instructions.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, legal advisors, and official authorities.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data and ensure proper archiving.
- Provide guidance and support to branch accountants to standardize accounting procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial systems, and tax regulations.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (experience with Mozon is a plus).
