About The Role
The
Product Owner (PO) is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the product team. This role serves as the voice of the customer within Agile teams and owns the product backlog. Working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, developers, designers, and QA engineers, the Product Owner translates
product strategy into actionable user stories and features. The PO maintains constant alignment with business priorities and user needs, ensuring that each sprint delivers high impact, validated outcomes. This is a highly
collaborative, value-driven role requiring strategic clarity and day-to-day decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a transparent, well-groomed product backlog that reflects business value, customer feedback, and strategic priorities.
- Break down product features and strategy into detailed, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
- Lead Agile Ceremonies and facilitate backlog refinement sessions, participate in sprint planning, and collaborate with development teams to ensure shared understanding of work items.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather input, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on sprint goals and deliverables.
- Review completed stories, validate against acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done (DoD), and approve or reject work accordingly.
- Ensure the backlog is always organized, prioritized, and ready for upcoming sprints, including dependencies and technical considerations.
- Actively participate in sprint reviews, retrospectives, and product demos to capture insights and inform continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Product Managers to align team output with the broader product roadmap and
business goals.
- Contribute to defining meaningful sprint goals and ensure the team’s work supports their successful achievement.
- Support Release Planning and Issue Management —including scheduled launches and hotfixes—in coordination with engineering, QA, and operations.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to conduct deep-dive requirement gathering, business rule validation, and documentation.
- Provide input into go-to-market planning, support user training, and collect real-world feedback to inform iterative development.
- Participate in user research, A/B testing, and early-stage discovery to validate ideas and de-risk product decisions.
- Perform any additional relevant tasks assigned
by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, product management, project management, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in a related field.
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Google Project Management Certificate is not mandatory is preferred but not mandatory.
