Position Overview:
The purpose and role of the manager in this position are to lead the overall development and growth of Retail Product lines, delivering sustainable profitable sales growth across DCP subsidiaries:
- Bring added value by focusing on best practices specific to each channel in every country.
- Develop and implement a channel/brand/product/marketing strategy in coordination with Subsidiary General Managers and Group Function Heads.
- Consider the different competitive landscapes in each country when formulating country-specific strategies.
- Coach and lead Retail Channel Sales Managers, Product Line Managers, and Marketing staff at the subsidiary level. Also, manage all Marketing & Branding responsible managers as well as Product Line Managers and their staff at the Center.
- Act as the primary owner for a separate Marketing budget for the Retail business covering Advertising & promotions, Research, Exhibitions, Product and packaging development, Product Catalogues, Display & POS materials, etc.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Distribution:
- Ensure DCP products are prominent for multi-product distributors.
- Develop a distribution strategy for each country and collaborate with distributors to ensure consistent availability in retail & wholesale trade, and impactful presence at retail outlets.
- Strategize to enhance DCP branding at key retail outlets.
- Ensure DCP products are listed and promoted on leading e-commerce platforms.
- Smart Pricing:
- Regularly update DCP database on prices of leading competitive products and assess their strengths and weaknesses.
- Product & Packaging Development / Upgrade.
- Display stands & in-store communication tools.
- Promotional Activity & Communication with Consumers:
- Website, Large & Medium-size Contractors, Small contractors & Applicators, Periodical Promotions, Advertising.
- Lead, Train, and Develop Sales Managers & Sales Reps. in each country.
- Manage a separate Retail business P&L by country.
- Market research & surveys:
- Develop a plan to conduct selective research and surveys in key countries to assess market size, DCP share, growth%, and end-user satisfaction.
- Business Travel & Online Meetings:
- Travel frequently to visit subsidiary countries.
- Utilize online Teams app frequently to follow up and review progress with Sales Managers and other Function Heads.
Candidate Profile:
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Majoring in Marketing or Finance is preferred.
Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in a similar industry are preferred.
- Ideally with 5 to 10 years of experience in Sales & Distribution with a successful track record across multi-countries in the MEA region.
- Marketing-oriented with the ability to optimize sales and brand equity
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership skills: Able to lead a highly effective sales management team which can deliver outstanding growth, and to develop productive relationships with management colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to develop and communicate business development plans effectively, as well as executing the plans.
- Financial acumen; able to analyze and assess financial data. Can translate such analysis into objective tasks.
- An outstanding figurehead and motivator. Charismatic with high levels of enthusiasm, and an energizer who makes things happen.
- Strong command of P&L management skills.
- Top-level analytical & negotiation skills.
- Fluency in Arabic & English. French is an advantage.
- Strong in Excel & PowerPoint – familiarity with SAP is a plus.
