Role Overview:
The Communications and Campaigns Officer will work under the direct management and supervision of the Regional Communications and Campaigns Coordinator and support the implementation of ActionAid Arab Region’s communications and campaigns strategy across regional programmes and humanitarian responses. The role will strengthen the visibility of ActionAid’s work, coordinate communications with partners across the region, develop high-quality multimedia content, and ensure the timely delivery of donor visibility and communications products. Working closely with programme teams and partners, and under the guidance of the Regional Communications and Campaigns Coordinator, the Officer will contribute to storytelling, digital engagement, media products, and campaign implementation across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Tunisia.
Areas of Responsibilities
Key Activities
Communications and Visibility
Support in Implementing the regional communications and visibility plan.
Develop high-quality communications materials including success stories, blogs, newsletters, press releases, fact sheets, presentations, and donor visibility products.
Ensure all communications products comply with ActionAid branding and donor visibility requirements.
Coordinate the production of communication materials with designers, photographers, videographers, translators, and consultants.
Maintain and regularly update regional communications assets and multimedia libraries
Digital Communications and Storytelling
Develop engaging content for social media platforms, including graphics, reels, videos, and digital campaigns.
Draft compelling human-interest stories highlighting programme impact.
Produce multimedia content including podcasts, short documentaries, interviews, and promotional videos.
Support website and digital content updates.
Monitor social media performance and prepare regular analytics reports with recommendations.
Partner Coordination and Programme Support
Coordinate communications activities with partners across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Tunisia.
Follow up on the timely submission of stories, photographs, consent forms, quotes, and activity updates.
Support visibility for programme launches, workshops, campaigns, donor visits, and regional events.
Provide communications support to humanitarian responses and emergency interventions.
Ensure communication deliverables are completed according to project workplans and donor requirements.
Communications, Influencing and Coordination
Build and maintain effective working relationships with programme teams, partners, donors, consultants, and external service providers.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across regional programmes.
Support regional advocacy and campaign initiatives through strategic communications.
Represent the Communications Unit in internal coordination meetings when required.
Other delivery on strategic/ functional priorities (Directorate-specific - maximum 5 KPIs)
Deliver high-quality communication products within agreed timelines.
Strengthen ActionAid Arab Region's digital visibility and audience engagement.
Ensure timely implementation of donor visibility requirements.
Maintain an organized communications archive and asset management system.
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of communications approaches
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Marketing, or another relevant field.
Master's degree is an advantage.
Essential Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in communications, media, public relations, or digital communications.
Experience working with NGOs, humanitarian, or international development organizations.
Demonstrated experience in content creation, digital storytelling, newsletters, and social media management.
Experience coordinating communication activities across multiple countries is an advantage.
