Role Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and highly technical Plant Manager to lead and manage end-to-end operations at our cheese processing facility. This leadership role carries full accountability for the entire value chain—from milk reception and processing to engineering services and plant administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations including milk reception, pasteurization, homogenization, and production of processed cheese, cream, and butter
• Plan and direct daily production schedules, asset utilization, and workflows to meet demand while minimizing costs and delays
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, JIT, TPM) to reduce waste and optimize OEE
• Coordinate with planning and procurement teams to ensure raw milk availability and timely production scheduling
• Develop and manage plant budgets with full accountability for costs, losses, and production variances
• Monitor and strictly control Loss in Process (LIP%) to maximize yield and improve profitability
• Ensure complete confidentiality of proprietary product recipes and manufacturing methodologies
• Lead all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted operations through preventive maintenance and timely repairs
• Optimize energy usage, equipment performance, and plant infrastructure upkeep
• Manage warehousing of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring cold chain compliance and FIFO/FEFO practices
• Enforce compliance with PSQCA/FSSAI, HACCP, and HALAL standards
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage all departmental, legal, environmental, and compliance audits
• Implement OSHA-based safety protocols, lead incident investigations, and drive sustainability initiatives
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement new technologies ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness
• Oversee R&D methodologies to enhance cheese products and align production strategies with market trends
Qualifications & Must-Have Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Experience in dairy manufacturing, with 3–5 years in a senior plant leadership role (specifically in cheese production)
- Strong technical knowledge of dairy processing, utilities, and quality management systems
- Proficiency in ERP and production software; Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
