Job Vacancy: Accountant (5–7 Years of Experience)

About the Role:
The Children’s Museum Jordan is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department and support daily financial operations, auditing activities, invoice processing, and procurement-related financial control.
Main Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare daily journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure timely updates of financial transactions.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards (including IFRS where applicable).
Support budget preparation and monitor spending against approved budgets.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process supplier invoices with proper verification and documentation.
Review, validate, and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payment requests.
Manage accounts receivable ensuring timely collection and accurate posting.
Follow up on outstanding balances with vendors and partners.
Purchasing & Procurement Financial Control
Coordinate with the Procurement & Supply Chain teams to match:
Purchase Orders (POs)
Goods Received Notes (GRNs)
Supplier invoices
Verify compliance with purchasing procedures and approval thresholds.
Maintain a complete audit trail for procurement-related financial documentation.
Auditing & Compliance
Prepare supporting schedules and documents for internal and external audits.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
5–7 years of professional experience, preferably in:
Non-profit organizations, OR
Industrial/commercial companies.
Strong experience in invoice processing, procurement documentation, and audit preparation.
Proficiency in accounting systems, including:
GP System
ERP Systems
Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial formulas).
Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
