About The Role
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of modern cloud-based data solutions. Working closely with senior engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience in building the infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and automation across the company. This role emphasizes learning, growth, and exposure to AWS technologies such as Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, along with Python, SQL, and Power BI.
What You'll Do
- Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Redshift, S3).
- Load, process, and transform data from APIs and other sources into the data warehouse.
- Help build and update database tables, functions, and schemas.
- Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs and troubleshoot basic data issues.
- Contribute to reporting and automation solutions using Power BI and .NET (with guidance).
- Participate in infrastructure provisioning with AWS CloudFormation (under supervision).
- Collaborate with senior engineers to learn best practices in data engineering, database design, and cloud operations.
- Document data solutions and internal processes.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 0–1 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or cloud technologies (internships, coursework, or projects are welcome).
- Knowledge of Python (for scripting/automation)
- Knowledge of SQL (basic querying and relational database concepts)
- Strong eagerness to work with AWS technologies and learn new tools.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with AWS services (Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda) through projects or coursework.
- Understanding of ETL and data pipeline concepts.
- Exposure to Power BI or other visualization tools.
- A problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO/SOC or similar.
