We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help us build secure, resilient, and observable backend systems powering our platform serving communities across the region.
What You’ll Do- Design and implement domain services (REST/GraphQL) with robust authentication and authorization (authN/authZ).
- Model databases, write efficient migrations, and manage key integrations (SMS, email, SSO).
- Build observable systems with structured logs, metrics, and traces—defining clear SLOs and error budgets.
- Automate testing across unit, integration, and contract layers, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, maintaining secure and repeatable delivery processes.
Scope & Deliverables- Versioned APIs with OpenAPI/JSON-Schema, achieving p95 latency ≤300ms for key endpoints.
- Code compliant with OWASP Top 10 standards, with zero Critical/High vulnerabilities at release.
- Comprehensive data migration plan, rehearsal, and reconciliation report.
- Measurable operational maturity in observability, performance, and reliability.
Your Toolkit- Languages & Frameworks: Node.js (NestJS) or Python (FastAPI).
- Databases & Infra: Postgres, Redis, message queues, Docker/Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Testing & QA: Jest or pytest, contract testing, CI/CD automation.
- Security & Performance: API rate limiting, input validation, and secure coding practices.
