The Contract Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing contracts related to logistics and transport projects, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and coordinating with stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure successful project delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, RFPs, and RFIs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor contract performance, ensure compliance with terms, KPIs, and legal/regulatory frameworks, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain organized contract records and documentation, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, finance, and project teams, providing guidance and resolving disputes.
- Conduct contract audits, identify risks, and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Provide training and support to project teams on contract management best practices.
- Develop and update standard contract templates and related documentation to improve efficiency.
- Generate reports on contract performance, deadlines, renewals, and key milestones for management review.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate execution of contract-related transactions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or a related role, preferably within the ports and logistics sector.
- knowledge of contract types and safety/environmental regulations.
- Proven skills in contract drafting, negotiation, risk management, and legal compliance.
- Proficiency in contract management software, documentation, reporting, and presentation tools.
- Excellent English and computer skills, with strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
