Position Summary
The Head of Commercial will lead and oversee the company's commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion. This role requires a strong background in data-driven decision-making and advanced proficiency in ASP (Application Service Provider/ASP.NET – depending on your context) to support business operations, digital platforms, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on commercial execution, ensuring the organization stays competitive and innovative.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement the company's commercial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
- Define and drive the company's commercial vision, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
- Develop and implement medium- and long-term commercial strategies focused on sustainable revenue growth
- Lead market expansion initiatives through geo-marketing, competitor analysis, and customer insights
- Establish pricing strategies, sales priorities, and sponsorship plans to support business objectives
- Collaborate with top management to refine business models and explore new revenue streams
- Monitor competitors, market trends, and industry benchmarks to adjust strategies proactively
Sales & Business Development
- Lead pricing, sales, partnerships, and business development initiatives to maximize revenue
- Oversee all B2C sales activities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
- Design incentive schemes for the sales team to boost productivity and customer acquisition
- Analyze sales trends and pipeline data to identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement
- Manage and grow key accounts, building long-term client relationships and strategic partnerships
- Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements in all commercial activities
Geo-Marketing & Market Research
- Lead geo-specific campaigns and regional marketing activities tailored to local market needs
- Oversee market segmentation and expansion plans in underpenetrated or competitive areas
- Work with the marketing team to develop localized go-to-market strategies for new and existing offerings
- Conduct market research related to the product
Public Relations & Sponsorship
- Lead public relations strategy to elevate company reputation and stakeholder trust
- Identify and manage strategic sponsorship opportunities to increase brand exposure and goodwill
- Represent the company in key industry events, conferences, and with governmental or institutional partners
- Coordinate with internal departments and media agencies to deliver impactful PR and sponsorship campaigns
Campaign & Social Media Management
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives across digital, print, and social media channels
- Review and approve content, including copywriting, graphics, and video production
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance indicators to modify strategy for best results
- Create and implement social media strategies to boost brand visibility and engagement
Product Management & Branding
- Advise on new products to introduce to up-sell current users
- Create Go-To market strategies and follow-up on product success in the market
- Manage the company's brand image and guarantee uniformity in marketing materials
Analytics & Reporting
- Use data analysis and reporting tools to forecast trends, evaluate performance, and identify new market opportunities
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging ASP technologies to optimize commercial platforms, reporting dashboards, and client-facing solutions
- Use analytical tools to track marketing performance and gain insights
- Improve marketing strategy using data-driven insights
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team
- Guide and support the marketing team in achieving departmental goals
- Develop team skills and know-how through knowledge sharing and by utilizing specialized training programs through HR
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure goals are aligned and offerings, products, and campaigns are delivered on time
- Manage connections with external vendors, such as advertising agencies
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior commercial role, preferably as Head of Commercial, Commercial Director, or similar
- Strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making
- Hands-on experience with ASP / ASP.NET platforms
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional collaboration
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
- Fluent in English and Arabic; Kurdish is a plus
