Job Summary
The Human Resources Lead will oversee and manage the day-to-day functions of People Operations, including supervision of HR staff (as applicable) enforcing company policies, and ensuring compliance with all local and U.S. regulations. This role demands a strategic mindset to create, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures while driving accountability across teams. The HR Lead will serve as the primary HR decision-maker in Amman, providing guidance to both employees and management on HR matters.
In addition to managing new hires’ onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management, the HR Lead is responsible for building a culture of excellence by ensuring policies are consistently applied, employee relations are handled professionally, and HR initiatives align with organizational goals. The ultimate objective is to foster employee engagement, strengthen compliance, and continuously improve HR processes to support PBS’s growing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Creation & Enforcement: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures in line with Jordanian labor law and U.S. client expectations.
- Recruitment & Talent Strategy: Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, including workforce planning, advanced forecasting, and approval of final candidate selections.
- Onboarding Excellence: Ensure high-quality onboarding and orientation experiences, establishing strong engagement and retention strategies for new hires.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and labor laws; lead audits and ensure accurate documentation.
- Employee Relations & Performance Management: Act as the primary point of escalation for employee issues, coaching managers and employees on performance, disciplinary actions, and professional development.
- HRIS & Reporting: Oversee HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, and tracking HR metrics for leadership.
- Strategic Projects & Initiatives: Drive HR initiatives related to culture-building, employee engagement, and process improvements.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs, coordinate leadership and compliance training, and ensure ongoing development of HR staff and employees.
- Offboarding & Exit Analysis: Oversee exit processes, conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide insights to leadership for reducing turnover.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with operations, compliance, and leadership teams to support strategic business initiatives and workforce planning.
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and act as the focal-point and go-to person for the PBS team, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certifications.
- Demonstrated expertise in HR policy creation, enforcement, and compliance management.
- Strong understanding of employee relations, recruiting, compensation, performance management, and legal compliance.
- Proven experience managing HR operations in multicultural, fast-paced environments.
- Advanced skills in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams), and project management tools.
MUST-HAVES
- Work Location: Ability to work from the Amman office (between 7th and 8th Circle) Monday to Friday.
- Working Hours: 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Amman Time), aligned with U.S. EST working hours.
- Leadership & Accountability: Ability to enforce policies, lead teams, and hold employees accountable to high standards of performance.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills for managing cross-border teams.
- Discretion & Integrity: Proven ability to handle sensitive HR issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Problem-Solving: Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to addressing HR challenges.
- Compliance Awareness: In-depth knowledge of Jordanian labor laws and willingness to stay updated on U.S. HR practices.
WORKING HOURS
On-site position in Amman, Monday to Friday, from 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Amman Time).
