Job Summary:
Bank of Jordan is seeking a Senior Treasury Risk Officer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Treasury Risk Officer will be responsible for overseeing the risk management framework within the Treasury department, ensuring that risks associated with market fluctuations, liquidity, and capital are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated. This position requires a strategic thinker with a solid understanding of financial markets and risk management practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and various stakeholders to develop and enhance risk policies and procedures. Additionally, this role will involve regular monitoring of Treasury activities, providing insightful risk assessments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Developing and managing the Treasury risk framework, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
- Monitoring and analyzing market risk exposures across the Treasury portfolio
- Implementing and maintaining effective risk management controls to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
- Providing regular reporting to senior management on the Treasury risk profile, including trends and potential areas of concern
- Collaborating with Treasury and Finance teams to align risk management practices with overall business objectives
- Conducting stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the potential impact of adverse market conditions on the Treasury portfolio
- Staying informed of regulatory developments and industry best practices related to Treasury risk management
- Coaching and mentoring junior staff within the risk management team
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in finance, risk management, economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are a plus
- 3-6 years of experience in Treasury risk management or a similar role within a banking or financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements applicable to Treasury operations
- Basel and CBJ regulatory knowledge for requirements under Market/Liquidity Risk
- Experience in preparing ALCO reporting for top management
- Experience in using ALM systems is a plus
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software
- High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members
