About the role:
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance & Accounting department in handling day-to-day accounting operations. This role includes preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Junior Accountant plays a key role in assisting with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting while utilizing accounting software to manage the company’s financial data effectively.
Key Accountabilities/Main Responsibilities:
Payroll and Tax Management:
- Process employee salaries, ensuring accuracy in deductions for social security, income tax, and other withholdings.
- Handle social security filings and ensure timely contributions.
- Prepare and file income tax returns and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including timely submission of VAT and other required filings.
Financial Operations:
- Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare basic financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate financial records for audits and internal reviews.
- Prepare tax and social security reports and ensure proper documentation for local authorities.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports as needed.
Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with external consultants and government bodies on financial matters.
- Provide basic support for budgeting and financial planning tasks.
- Respond to internal and external queries related to payroll and tax compliance.

Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Multilingual: Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
