About The Role
We’re looking for a strategic and proactive Head of Compliance to lead
Maqsam’s regulatory direction and ensure operational excellence across the MENA region. This isn’t just about managing policies, it’s about building a compliance framework from the ground up, creating the relationships that matter, and ensuring we grow responsibly and in line with evolving regulatory standards.
This person will be a thought partner to leadership, helping us see around corners, understand regional frameworks, and establish
Maqsam as a trusted technology provider across the region. You’ll own compliance strategy while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Your Top Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Maqsam’s global compliance strategy, especially focused on MENA (KSA, UAE, Qatar).
- Identify emerging regulatory trends and anticipate changes in data privacy, cloud communications, and SaaS legal landscapes.
- Build and nurture relationships with regulators, legal advisors, and government entities to stay aligned with local requirements.
- Drive strategic alignment between legal, operations, sales, and product teams to ensure smooth and compliant go-to-market initiatives.
- Set up scalable frameworks for policy management, licensing, and regulatory reporting.
- Champion a proactive compliance culture, lead internal awareness initiatives and training for key teams.
- Lead and manage the compliance team, providing guidance and ensuring they perform to the highest standards.
- Partner with leadership on long-term planning and risk mitigation strategy tied to regulatory growth.
- Guide the business through regulatory audits and certifications.
What We Expect From You
- Proven strategic experience in compliance or regulatory affairs, preferably in a SaaS, telecom, or tech scale-up environment.
- Strong familiarity with legal systems and regulatory bodies in KSA, UAE, and Qatar.
- Strong experience with antifraud systems and practices.
- Deep understanding of data privacy, cloud communications, and digital regulatory frameworks.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence and align internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working cross-functionally and leading through complexity and ambiguity.
- Self-starter mindset, able to build from scratch, problem-solve creatively, and work with limited guidance.
