Our Company is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Business Analyst to join our Corporate Development Office.
Reporting to the Corporate Development Director, the Business Analyst will support the evaluation of growth and investment opportunities, portfolio performance monitoring, strategic planning, financial analysis, and the preparation of executive-level materials.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited to a candidate who is comfortable working independently with financial and operating data and translating complex information into clear, decision-useful insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Performance
- Review and analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and supporting financial information.
- Identify trends, variances, profitability drivers, liquidity and leverage considerations, working-capital movements, cash generation, and financial risks.
- Monitor subsidiary and Group performance against budgets, business plans, prior periods, and agreed KPIs.
- Prepare dashboards, variance analyses, management commentary, and performance reports.
- Reconcile financial and operational information from multiple sources and identify data gaps or inconsistencies.
Financial Modelling, Valuation & Business Cases
- Build, update, and quality-check financial models for investments, acquisitions, divestments, financing alternatives, market-entry opportunities, and other strategic initiatives.
- Perform valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analyses.
- Support the development of feasibility studies, business plans, and capital-allocation papers.
- Consolidate commercial, operational, and financial information into well-structured investment cases.
Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Conduct market, sector, competitor, and company research.
- Assess market attractiveness, competitive positioning, growth opportunities, and performance-improvement initiatives.
- Support strategic reviews and annual planning activities.
- Maintain relevant market intelligence and benchmarking information.
Corporate Development & Transaction Support
- Support the screening and preliminary evaluation of acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, divestments, and organic growth opportunities.
- Assist with due diligence, including coordination of information requests, data-room materials, issue tracking, and analysis of management information and adviser outputs.
- Prepare transaction analyses and supporting materials.
- Support post-transaction integration or benefits tracking when required.
Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Prepare high-quality presentations, briefing notes, investment papers, and Board or management materials.
- Coordinate with Finance, Treasury, Legal, HR, business units, and external advisers.
- Maintain workplans, milestone trackers, KPI dashboards, action logs, and risk or dependency registers.
- Ensure appropriate confidentiality, document control, and quality standards for sensitive strategic and financial information.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for candidates with 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Corporate Development
- Investment Banking
- Management Consulting
- Transaction Advisory
- Big 4 Deals / Valuation
- Equity Research
- Investment Analysis
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Comparable analytical or strategic finance roles
Candidates should have hands-on experience analyzing financial information and developing or reviewing financial models and management presentations.
Exposure to M&A, due diligence, strategic planning, portfolio analysis, or a diversified holding-company environment would be advantageous.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or another relevant quantitative or business discipline.
- Progress toward or completion of CFA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or a relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong written and spoken English is required.
- Arabic language capability is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong financial statement analysis capability, including understanding how the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement interact.
- Sound knowledge of financial modelling, forecasting, valuation, scenario analysis, and key investment return metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and research capability.
- Ability to translate financial and market information into clear business insights.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills for senior-management audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Familiarity with financial databases, data-visualization tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools is an advantage.
