Business Unit Overview
The Emerging Technology Lab is PwC Middle East’s innovation space where we explore, design, and prototype with the latest technologies such as Generative AI, immersive experiences, robotics, space tech and quantum. The Lab enables clients and partners to see the future of technology in action through demos, showcases, and co-creation workshops.
How You’ll Contribute
As an AI & Robotics Engineer (Associate), you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team of innovators, engineers, and technologists, helping transform emerging technologies into tangible demonstrations, prototypes, and client-facing experiences. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing, building, and integrating AI-powered robotic systems and intelligent automation solutions.
- Developing rapid prototypes using robotics, AI, computer vision, embedded systems, and edge computing technologies.
- Translating ambiguous problem statements into clear technical architectures and implementation plans.
- Researching and evaluating emerging technologies, robotics platforms, sensors, actuators, and AI models.
- Developing software for robotic systems, including perception, control, navigation, and human-machine interaction.
- Building and integrating computer vision and multimodal AI capabilities using state-of-the-art models and frameworks.
- Collaborating with software engineers, designers, researchers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
- Conducting testing, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotics and AI systems.
- Leading technical discussions and mentoring junior engineers and interns.
- Documenting system architectures, engineering decisions, and implementation processes.
- Supporting client workshops, demonstrations, lab tours, and innovation showcases.
What You’ll Bring
- 0–3 years of experience in Robotics Engineering, AI Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.

- Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python for AI, robotics, and automation development.
- Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2.
- Experience integrating robotic hardware including sensors, cameras, LiDAR, actuators, servos, motor controllers, and embedded systems.
- Knowledge of robotic kinematics, motion planning, control systems, and autonomous navigation concepts.
- Experience with embedded platforms such as ESP32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino, or similar.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and modern LLM APIs (GPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.).
- Strong computer vision experience using OpenCV and modern vision models.
- Experience with edge AI deployment and hardware acceleration is a plus.
- Experience with Linux-based development environments.
- Familiarity with CAD, digital fabrication, rapid prototyping, and 3D printing is a plus.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Understanding of Docker, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
- Experience with simulation environments such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Webots, or similar is a plus.

- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills; able to work closely with technologists, researchers, designers, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Client-facing mindset with the ability to support demonstrations, workshops, and innovation showcases.
- Ability to engage with partners, startups, academia, and technology providers to strengthen the Lab’s innovation ecosystem.
- Proactive, curious, and adaptable to change.
- Reliable in delivering high-quality work on time.
- Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Travel Requirements: Your flexibility to travel 20% of the time. This means we may require you to work away from your base office location on a regular basis and frequent overnight stays may be required. Where possible, we will take your preferences into account and strike a balance between meeting your career development/personal needs and those of the business and our clients.

- Collaborate with colleagues to manage lab tours, workshops, and external events.
- Help design and deliver client demonstrations, presentations, and showcases.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and emerging technology research.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and robotics technologies to create new client experiences and business value.
