Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Accounts Receivable (AR) function, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, customer account reconciliations, VAT compliance, and financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
- Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Approve and post invoices and related journal entries within the accounting system.
- Ensure all invoices comply with applicable e-invoicing regulations and government requirements.
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on overdue payments to support timely collections.
- Maintain accurate customer account records and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate variances as required.
Sales Order & Billing Control
- Review and approve sales orders submitted by project managers prior to invoicing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve billing-related issues and discrepancies.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain Accounts Receivable aging reports.
- Analyze overdue accounts and provide recommendations to improve collection performance.
- Generate expected collections forecasts and AR-related financial reports for management review.
- Assist in preparing supporting schedules and reconciliations required for month-end and year-end closing activities.
Tax Compliance
- Assist in the preparation, submission, and reconciliation of VAT returns and related statements.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and maintain supporting documentation for tax filings.
- Support tax audits and inquiries by providing required financial information and documentation.
Financial Operations & Audit Support
- Collaborate with finance, reporting, and audit teams during internal and external audit processes.
- Provide supporting documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as required.
- Assist the reporting team by providing financial justifications and supporting analyses for management reports.
Process Improvement
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Accounts Receivable, or a related area.
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivable processes, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with VAT regulations and tax compliance requirements.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
