The European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil protection and Humanitarian aid Operations (ECHO), funds relief operations for victims of natural disasters and conflicts outside the European Union. For humanitarian aid, the Commission works with about 200 operational partners, including United Nation agencies, the Red Cross/Crescent movement and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Aid is channeled impartially, straight to victims, regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, age, nationality or political affiliation.
DG ECHO Office In Amman Is Seeking To Recruit One National Staff To Be Based In Amman/ Jordan, For The Position Of
Administrative & Logistics Assistant (Group III)

Main Responsibilities
As a part of the Jordan country team, the Administrative & Logistics Assistant of the Amman Office, Jordan will carry out activities such as:
- General Procurement Duties: Contributes to the procurement of goods, services and contracts, ensuring compliance with DG ECHO and EU procurement procedures while managing suppliers, tenders, purchase orders and contract follow-up.
- Assets Management: Ensures proper management, maintenance, tracking and availability of office assets, equipment and furniture, including staff workstations and communication equipment.
- Fleet Management: Coordinates vehicle and driver management, ensuring proper maintenance, insurance coverage, monitoring of vehicle usage, and follow-up of incidents and reimbursements.
- Inventory Management: Maintains accurate inventory records, asset registration and reporting, ensuring compliance with inventory procedures, asset tracking and annual inventory exercises.
- TA Settlement and Protocol (If/When Applicable): Provides protocol, accreditation, customs clearance and housing support for Technical Assistants (TAs), while liaising with local authorities and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- General Administration Support: Provides administrative and logistical support to office operations, seminars and workshops, maintains confidential records, and assists with onboarding, training and interpretation/translation tasks.

Minimum Requirements
The candidates for this position need to demonstrate the following criteria:
Education
- First level university degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge And Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience at national or international level in administration, procurement or logistics.
- Knowledge of working processes (purchase orders, preparation of contracts for services and goods, tendering, protocol, etc.).
- Previous experience in a Governmental or other International Organisation is an advantage.
- Good communication skills.
- Capacity to work under pressure in a multitasking position.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Good experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Languages
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
- An excellent knowledge of Arabic
Employment conditions
This position is open to nationals and other residents of Jordan with valid work and residence permits. The contract is initially for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to a 3-month probationary period.
As an indication, the monthly basic salary is on average approximately JOD 1,559, which corresponds to 5 years’ relevant work experience. The salary will be adapted according to the exact duration of relevant professional experience supported by a work certificate. In addition, the employee will receive disability/retirement allowance, a 13th month salary, as well as medical coverage.
